Kiugak or Kiawak Ashoona (1933) from Cape Dorset, Nunavut is the most celebrated, recognized and sought after Inuit carver in the world today. Kiugak's accolades include: the Order of Canada, numerous films, permanent Inuit exhibits worldwide. Kiawak Ashoona is the only Inuit artist to have his carving featured on a Canadian stamp.
